BETWEEN THE MOVEMENTS – Acrobatics, Parkour, Capoeira, Floor Work – MOVEMENT WORKSHOP FOR DANCERS

Movement workshop with Aneta Zwierzynska and Farid Herrera which is going to combine a mixture from different movement cultures: Acrobatics, Capoeira, Floor work, Dynamic Release Technique and Parkour. This will be hosted in a space with mats and equipment.

If you are a dancer or mover and you struggle with going upside down, putting weight on your hands, applying soft acrobatics in your dance routines, or finding creativity in your movement, this workshop is for you. We provide a safe mental space to practice. Together, we have more than 15 years of experience. We will break down capoeira and acrobatic movements, parkour and floor work .

Some concepts we will be looking at will include:

- How to apply acrobatics into a movement phrase – Where movements Initiation from – Breaking down acrobatic and capoeira movements – Making challenging movements approachable to everyone – Balance – Reflexes – Self Confidence – Awareness (body mind presence) – Limitation – Body in the relation to the self, space, other person – Strong and soft – Adaptable body

Aneta Zwierzynska
Aneta is a professional dancer, capoeira teacher and choreographer. At Anton Bruckner University in Austria she obtained a double MA, studying movement research
and dance pedagogy. She has trained and worked with several dance companies in Poland, Austria, Brazil and the UK. Her movement research was carried out in Brazil based on the possibility to exchange experience from contemporary dance and capoeira. In 2016, she was selected to be the main choreographer for the opening ceremony of the European Capital of Culture. Aneta has been training capoeira since 11 years ( 2 years in Brazil)

Farid Herrera:
Farid is among the first generation of Parkour practicioners in the U.K dating back to the early year 2002. He has since expanded his movement experience through extensive practice in Gymnastics, Acrobatics, Handbalance, Capoeira and Jiu Jitsu. He is recognized for having completed his Parkour UK 1st4 Sport level 2 certificate in Parkour / Freerunning (QCF) with 100% competency and marks in the Physical and Technical assessments. He has been invited to teach internationally at events including the Hong Kong West Kowloon Freespace Festival and the Parkour and Movement Festival in Hannover. He has been a part of Parkour Dance Company. He is also the co-founder of Need Of Movement where together with Aneta Zwierzynska, they deliver movement workshop across Europe.
